Since a young girl, Joyce has always been fascinated with art. She has been enjoying Florida landscapes and nature for nearly twenty years. Originally from the Midwest, Joyce has felt the pull of the Sunshine State’s natural beauty and its unique wildlife. Her relationship with the untouched environment and its children reaches deep into her heart and is released into each brushstroke. Study her work, such as her wildlife paintings, and you will feel the passion as it draws you into the piece itself, a state of grace. Her contemporary works of art are done in oil and mixed media and include seascapes as well as other scenes of natural Floridian beauty.

Growing up in humble surroundings, Joyce’s pursuit of art surfaced in drawings of dresses and clothing. Creativity came naturally as she had early aspirations of becoming a clothing designer. Joyce is a self taught artist whose influences vary widely from other painters to fine examples from nature itself. Making sojourns into backcountry in her kayak, Joyce paints scenes that few get to experience yet all feel the natural beauty she translates through her work.

 

Joyce is a member of the St. Augustine Art Association and won an Award of Excellence in one of the Judging Shows. Whether you are an original fine art collector or just enjoy a brief fancy of the thoughts of her subjects, you are invited to share in Joyce’s ardent love of nature.
